Ozark / Fort Rucker KOA Journey
Quick Stop with Excellent Hospitality
We pulled into this KOA after a long day of driving, arriving just before dark. Despite the short stay, the hospitality here made a lasting impression.
The manager actually called us while we were en route since we were running a little later than expected. He just wanted to check in, make sure we didn’t need anything, and assist us with finding our site once we arrived. Such a kind and thoughtful touch!
He also gave us a heads-up about the high water pressure at the campground and recommended using a pressure regulator. I had one with me, but second-guessed myself, of course, and asked a few questions. He was incredibly accommodating, offering a regulator just in case and including it in our welcome bag, charging the card on file for the ease of it. So simple, and so appreciated.
As for the site, it did feel a bit crammed and awkwardly placed. Additionally, it was right off the freeway, so if you’re sensitive to road noise, I’d recommend requesting a site further back in the campground.
Though we didn’t have time to explore much, we did notice the campground had a pond. I can't speak for much else since we didn't use any of the facilities. However, customer service was outstanding. Friendly, helpful, and exactly what we needed after a long day of travel.
Tips and Hints:
• If you’re running late, don’t be surprised if the manager calls ahead to check in—it’s a great personal touch.
• Be sure to have a pressure regulator for your water hookup. If you don’t have one, the staff is happy to help!
• Request a site toward the back of the campground if you’re sensitive to road noise, as some spots are closer to the freeway.
Good for a quick stop en route to your destination.
