If you blink, you might miss downtown Carrabelle, but don’t let that fool you—there are hidden gems like Carrabelle Junction, a local favorite in this charming small town, known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious, homemade offerings. The building itself has a rich history, once serving as a former railroad station. Over the years, it has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a taste of small-town charm mixed with delicious food.
My in-laws have been in Carrabelle for about a month, giving them plenty of time to explore and find the best spots and their recommendation quickly made its way to the top of my list, specifically for their Ultimate Bagel and fresh squeezed orange juice. While nothing compares to the real deal but after my first bite, I knew it would be a recipe I’d want to recreate at home.
The Ultimate Bagel:
Here’s how you can make it too:
Ingredients:
• 1 Everything bagel
• Whipped cream cheese
• 1 Tomato, sliced
• 1 Avocado, sliced
• A handful of bean sprouts
• 2 slices of thin-sliced bacon
Instructions:
1. Slice the everything bagel in half and lightly toast it.
2. Spread a generous amount of whipped cream cheese on each half.
3. Layer on fresh tomato and avocado slice.
4. Add a handful of bean sprouts for crunch and freshness.
5. Top it all off with crispy, thin-sliced bacon.
Trust me, you’ll be craving this one again and again. I couldn’t wait to get home and make it for the kids—they loved it just as much as we did.
Have you made a copycat recipe from a favorite place? I'd love to hear it!
