The Tail-Wagging Travels of Milo: A Boston Terrier’s Guide to Adventure

The Day Our Lives Went Off-Leash

Since the day we brought Milo home, life has been anything but ordinary. One month after adopting our hyperactive, three-year-old Boston Terrier (a.k.a. a tiny piranha with paws), we set off on our very first family road trip from Michigan to Florida. Did we know what we were getting into? No. Did Milo? Absolutely not. But the moment he hopped into the car, we knew we had the best travel buddy ever.

Ride or Die (Or at Least Until the Next Rest Stop)

Milo has a special talent for making every journey wildly entertaining. Just say the word “ride,” and he’s already halfway in the car, probably packing his own treats. This dog doesn’t just enjoy traveling—he thrives on it. He’s part adventurer, part backseat driver, and 100% convinced he should be the one navigating. (Sorry, GPS, Milo says we’re taking the scenic route.) Whether we’re setting up camp or crashing in an Airbnb, he’s got two goals: make friends and sniff everything. And he’s crushing it.

Hiking: A Sport for Humans, a Lifestyle for Milo

If there’s one thing Milo loves more than car rides, it’s hiking. Uphill? No problem. Rocky trails? Bring it on. A peaceful stroll through the park? That’s just his warm-up. While we huff and puff up the trails, Milo prances ahead like he’s leading an expedition. As newly minted empty nesters, we weren’t sure how this whole travel thing would feel, but with Milo by our side, we’re never lonely—and always laughing.

Beach Bum Boston: Destination St. George Island

Our first big stop? St. George Island, Florida—a place where Milo can live out his greatest dream: sprinting across the sand with his ears flopping in the salty air. If joy had a mascot, it would be a Boston Terrier hitting turbo mode with the zoomies on the beach. If you ever need a lesson on appreciating life’s simple pleasures, just watch a dog discover sand.

But What About When Milo Can’t Join Us?

While Milo would love to accompany us everywhere (including restaurants, grocery stores, and probably outer space), sometimes, he has to stay back in the camper. And because we’re slightly obsessed with keeping him safe, we’ve brainstormed some security ideas:

📹 A Blink Mini pet camera – Because spying on your dog while eating out is totally normal.

🔐 Upgraded locks – Apparently, standard RV locks are about as secure as a cardboard box.

🚨 A security alarm – Just in case anyone thinks breaking into our trailer is a good idea. Spoiler: It’s not.

Would an alarm be overkill? Maybe. But let’s be real—Milo would probably be the one to trigger it by accident.
